Your Guide to Proud American Days 2013

The 2013 Proud American Days is planned for July 25-28 at 601 E. Lincoln Highway.

Four days of fun are coming to the Home of Proud Americans July 25-28. Proud American Days is back in New Lenox next weekend, and we've got a complete rundown of all the events.

The annual event has moved this year. It will take place in the lot just east of Walmart, at 601 E. Lincoln Highway. Carnival tickets are $1 each and can be use at any Windy City Carnival Event. Unlimited Ride Wristbands will be available on Thursday night, July 25, as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Unlimited wristband are not an option on Friday, July 26.

Thursday, July 25

  • 5 p.m. Entertainment Tent open until Midnight
  • 6 p.m. Carnival Games and Rides open until 10 p.m. (Unlimited Ride Wristbands for $20). Advanced ticket sales begin at 4 p.m., weather permitting.
  • 7-11 p.m. Bags Tournament, ages 21 and up. Registration begins at 6 p.m. 
  • 7-11 p.m. Pad Pong Tournament, ages 21 and up. Registration begins at 6 p.m. 
  • 8-11 p.m. Entertainment Tent featuring performer Maggie Speaks, $7 cover charge. 

Friday, July 26

  • Noon Lions Club Special Needs Day, at the Entertainment Tent. By invitation only, runs until 3 p.m.
  • 5-11 p.m. Carnival 
  • 7-11 p.m. Bags Tournament, ages 21 and up. Registration begins at 6 p.m. 
  • 7-11 p.m. Pad Pong Tournament, ages 21 and up.
  • 5 p.m. Carnival Games and Rides open until 11 p.m. (no unlimited ride wristbands)
  • 5 p.m. Entertainment Tent open till midnight
  • 8-11 p.m. Hairbangers Ball performs, $7 cover charge.

Saturday, July 27

  • New Lenox Fire Protection District's "Controlled Burn" Beef Cook-Off, Judging takes place at 11 a.m.
  • 8:30 a.m. Proud American Baby contest. On-site registration is $15. Goes until 11 a.m.
  • 8:30 a.m. Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament at Lions Den Park, 520 S. Cedar Road. Registration begins at 8 a.m.  
  • 9 a.m. -4 p.m. Craft Vendor Show
  • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Family Bingo at the Family Tent
  • 1-2 p.m. Dave Rudolph's Family Beach Party at the Entertainment Tent
  • 2-4 p.m. Family Fun Extravaganza at the Entertainment Tent
  • 5 -8 p.m. Lucky Town performs at the Entertainment Tent 
  • 8 p.m.-Midnight Infinity at the Entertainment Tent, $7 cover 
  • 6:30 p.m. Bags Tournament, ages 21 and up. At the entertainment tent. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and is $20 per team
  • 7-11:30 p.m. Bags Tournament, ages 21 and up. 
  • 7-11:30 p.m. Pad Pong Tournament, ages 21 and up. 

Sunday, July 28

  • 8:30 a.m. Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament - Ages 12-17 at Lions Den Park, 520 S. Cedar Road.
  • 11 a.m. Military Tribute at the entertainment tent. All past and current military personnel are encouraged to come.
  • Noon-3 p.m. Classic Car Show at the Festival site
  • Noon Entertainment Tent open until 10 p.m.
  • Noon Carnival Games and Rides open until 9 p.m. (Unlimited Ride Wristbands for $20 from noon to 4 p.m.)
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. Big Wheel Race and Decorating Contest at Discount Tire Parking lot
  • 1-4 p.m. Teen Battle of the Bands at Festival site
  • 5-9 p.m. Stellar performs at the Entertainment Tent, no cover charge
