A Martino teacher, John Wettergren, is donating his extensive Star Wars collection for viewing. The collection includes prop replicas of blasters, light sabers and helmets, and collectible memorabilia, including a life-sized Darth Vader and Yoda.

Museum goers will enjoy a toy raffle, Star Wars movie, Jedi training school for kids, Star Wars coloring center, Star Wars legos, and Star Wars-themed concessions for sale. There will also be visits from Star Wars characters. It is a great photo opportunity for kids!

“The Star Wars Museum will be a great day, for a great cause,” said Brandon Kilstrom, Martino’s student council co-sponsor. “Martino Junior High has supported the Toys for Tots program for many years and is thrilled to offer the community this fun-filled event for fans of all ages. This year we are also reaching out to those close to home impacted by the recent tornadoes.”

The cost for entry is $2 and children free for children under 3. Each donated new toy is good for one free entry. The toy must be in its original packaging.

Martino Junior High School is at 731 East Joliet Highway in New Lenox. Exhibition hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
