ReplyI am not sure where the information came regarding the semi driver being transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin, but to answer everyone's comments, he was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by New Lenox Fire Protection District. If he was transferred to Elgin afterwards, we are not sure but originally he was taken to the closest hospital per Standing Medical Procedures.

ReplyThey do screen, they do not just let anyone come in and get a bag of groceries. There are alot of unfortunate circumstances for a lot of people in all towns. Those going to the NL pantry have to show their identification to prove they are a NL citizen and are interviewed as to their hardships. Most food pantries operate that way. I believe if you are fortunate in this economy to have the means to donate, it would be nice to do so to those in your own neighborhood.
