PHOTO GALLERY: A Balmy Day for New Lenox's Christmas in the Commons

Hundreds of residents turned out in shirt sleeves and light wight jackets for a balmy Christmas celebration with Santa, carolers and more.

The Village of New Lenox held its annual "Christmas in the Commons" Sunday, celebrating with Santa, carriage rides, tree decorating and more.  Christmas carols filled the commons and music was performed by numerous school choral groups, including Medieval-dressed Madrigal Singers from Lincoln-Way West High School along with youngsters from Martino and Liberty Junior High Schools. Meanwhile, parents and children decked out a field of evergreen trees and many enjoyed a horse-drawn, snow-less sleigh ride.  Check our Holiday Guide for more Christmas Activities. Tickets Available for Lincoln-Way Madrigal Dinners

The annual event typically sells out, so learn how to get tickets while you can.

Tickets are now on sale for the popular Madrigal Dinners at Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way Central for the annual sellout event. West's Madrigal Dinners are Dec. 1-3, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the shows starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $28 each and may be purchased by stopping by the West Music Office and filling out a ticket order form, or by calling 815-717-3507. Central's dinners are Dec. 8-10 in the school's Fine Arts Center. Call 815-462-2300 for tickets to Central's event. The event sells out by Thanksgiving. The ticket price includes a three-course meal catered by Enrico’s Italian Dining century madrigals and traditional music.
