Lincoln-Way Central High School Principal Steve Provis welcomes honor roll students and their parents to a night of academic celebration.
Lincoln-Way Central hosted its Honor Roll Knight on March 12 to recognize academic achievement. “Tonight we honor those who have excelled in the classroom. It is no mistake that academically at Lincoln-Way Central we rank in the top Illinois. We are 55th out of 668 schools in the state,” stated Dr. Steve Provis, principal for Lincoln-Way Central. Principal Provis continued telling the over 1,200 students and parents that attended the evening, “Our kids are competitors. Tonight we honor our students but we also honor you the parents and grandparents. On behalf of the entire staff here at Central, I would like to thank you – parents and grandparents - for allowing us the privilege of working with your child on a daily basis. We are blessed …

Lincoln-Way West honored their Illinois State Scholars with a special breakfast before school on Wednesday in the Warriors Lodge.
Lincoln-Way West High School honored their Illinois State Scholars with a special breakfast before school on Wednesday in the Warriors Lodge. “Congratulations to all 51 of you. We are extremely proud of you and your accomplishments. Through your hard work and dedication you have all achieved this honor of being named an Illinois State Scholar,” Principal Monica Schmitt told the students. Eligibility requirements to be named an Illinois State Scholar include: be a U.S citizen; Illinois resident; and the combination of exemplary college entrance examination scores and record of high school achievement which have qualified each of you for this recognition, added Schmitt. Lincoln-Way Central High School announced recently with pride its 64 Illinois State Scholars for the 2013 school year. “We are extremely proud of our students who qualified this year. This is quite an honor. Congratulations to all 64 students. They have worked hard to improve their academic achievement. The top 10% of Illinois High School graduates earn the Illinois State Scholar recognition,” noted Dr. Steve Provis, principal, Lincoln-Way Central.
