Child Porn Charges for New Lenox Man

Daniel M. Cameron, of the 1600 block of Briarcrest Drive in New Lenox, is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, police said.

Investigators found numerous pornographic images of children on the computer of a 31-year-old New Lenox man after a joint investigation with county and local officials, according to police. Daniel M. New Lenox Man's Child Pornography, Cocaine Charges: 2-Part Investigation

A two-part NLPD investigation led to the arrest of Michael McGrath.

The arrest of a New Lenox man for child pornography and cocaine on Feb. 12 was the result of a two-part investigation by law enforcement. According to New Lenox Police Sgt. Louis Alessandrini, the investigation of Michael McGrath, 22, of the 100 block of Terry Ellen Lane, began the week before. A warrant was issued Feb. 8 to search his home. "We were doing a drug investigation on Friday and recovered several grams of cocaine" from the home, said Alessandrini. McGrath, who was brought in for questioning, gave police permission to search his phone. There are five registered sex offenders listed as living in New Lenox, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.

Patch wants to help New Lenox parents keep their kids safe. The law requires sex  offenders to register. In general, the laws center on sex offenders registering in person each year the local police department. They must do so for a required 10-year registration period, unless they are separately required to register for life. Offenders are prohibited from living within 500 feet of a school, daycare center, youth center or other facility that caters to children younger than 18 years old. Man Charged With Child Porn Possession

Police executed a search warrant Tuesday at a New Lenox home and found child pornography on two computers.

A New Lenox man was charged with child pornography possession after police searched his home Tuesday.  Justin M. White, 20, of the 1500 block of Monarch Avenue in New Lenox, was charged with six counts of possession of child pornography and one count of using illegal encryption software.  Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz of the New Lenox Police Department said the Will County State Attorney's Computer Crimes Unit discovered that child porn was being downloaded at a New Lenox home.  Police executed a search warrant Tuesday and seized two computers and hard drives, both of which had child pornography files downloaded to them.   Pawlisz said White lived in the home with other family members, and he admitted to being the person who downloaded the …

Alex J. Shingler, 21, of New Lenox, was sentenced to seven years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to two separate charges: possession of child pornography and residential burglary.

A New Lenox man was sentenced to seven years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to two separate charges: aggravated possession of child pornography and residential burglary. Alex J. Shingler, 21, of the 300 block of Carol Road in New Lenox, was set to stand trial before a jury on both charges Tuesday but pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to three years for the possession of child pornography, a class 2 felony, and received a consecutive four-year sentence for the burglary, a class 1 felony. Both sentences were the minimum allowed by law. Shingler was charged with possession of child pornography in October 2009 after an undercover operation by the Wheaton Police Department led to his IP address.
