New Lenox police reports, Oct. 12.
FRIDAY, OCT. 12 Caught red-handed Anthony Lukas, 22, of Frankfort, was caught with the goods allegedly taken from a parked car in the 300 block of Monterey Drive in New Lenox. According to the report, a homeowner called police about a car burglary in progress. Police arrived and found Lukas in a neighbor's backyard with items taken from the caller's vehicle, the report stated. During the investigation, police discovered Lukas was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court. He was arrested and taken to the Will County Jail on charges of felony burglary to a vehicle and the outstanding warrant. Bond was set at $20,000. Identity theft is calculated into the total number for the crime map.
In September 2012, there were four car burglary reports in New Lenox along with six criminal damage to property complaints; only one of the six was a house and the other five were reports of damage to vehicles. There were also four complaints of theft, including identity theft. Finally, there was one complaint of a theft from a home. This information was provided in weekly blotter reports from the New Lenox Police Department and Will County Sheriff's Department.

In August 2012, one car was stolen and eight vehicles were burglarized in New Lenox. There were also five criminal damage to property complaints, including three vehicles, along with two theft reports. and three 13 thefts or burglaries at New Lenox homes. There were two complaints of theft and two home burglaries reported. One criminal trespass complaint was filed. Our home was broken into and items were taken and our truck was taken also, this happened in April... The offender "Justin Benoit" was arrested and found guilty in court yesterday- would be nice to know what happened in court yesterday sense I could not be there...
