ShareFest 2012 Introduces a Fair Atmosphere: It's Fun to Volunteer

Music, dance and presentations motivate volunteers and brings families together in the annual volunteerism event in New Lenox.

Mayor Tim Baldermann Monday issued a proclamation celebrating the 11 Days of Giving implemented through ShareFest 2012 at the Village Board meeting. With plans for the sixth annual ShareFest underway, chairperson Gary Cheney is looking forward to the "fair atmosphere" that has surrounded the 11 Days of Giving, he said later. ShareFest is an annual event in New Lenox that brings together the community for a massive volunteerism effort. It includes numerous service projects, as well as collections for toys, books, food and lots more. Dance/Fitness Studio Opens in New Lenox

Zumba demonstration energizes the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce event.

Business owners, New Lenox Chamber of Commerce representatives and supporters were treated to an energetic demonstration by Zumba instructors, including Victoria Jones, the owner of the newly opened Harmonic Way Group Fitness & Wellness. Well-wishers attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was held Wednesday at 1906 Ferro Drive.   The Zumba dance fitness studio is sharing space in a building with Flipstar Gymnastic Academy along with Dreamz Elite.
