County Board GOP Boss' Grandson Charged With Felony Theft: Source

The grandson of Will County Board Republican Chairman Jim Moustis was arrested on suspicion of stealing from his job, a source said.

A man arrested and accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his job at a cigarette wholesaler is the grandson of Will County Board Republican Chairman Jim Moustis, a source said. Nicholas Moustis, 23, of 21349 S. 80th Ave. in Frankfort, surrendered to the Mokena police on Friday and faces one count each of felony and misdemeanor theft. He posted $1,500 bail for his release. Mokena police Cmdr. Dan Rankovich said Nicholas Moustis stole more than $3,600 from his employer. The criminal complaint against Nicholas Moustis identified the victim of the theft as Mazher Khan. Khan, incidentally, has legal trouble of his own and is set to be sentenced in July—possibly to federal prison—for contraband cigarette trafficking. According to his …

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 26 Unknown persons broke into a storage container and stole scrap metal and four aluminum rims between Dec. 16 and Dec. 19 on the 22000 block of S. 80th Avenue in Frankfort. Unknown persons punctured two tires on a work vehicle on the 20000 block of S. Frankfort Square Road in Frankfort. The offenders also poured bleach into the vehicle’s gas tank and poured bleach into a Ford Edge at the same location. FRIDAY, DEC. 28 Security personnel at about 1 a.m. at Lincoln-Way North High School on the 19900 block of S. Sheriff’s deputies received a call from Oak Forest Police on Dec. 25 stating that the vehicle had been recovered, although it had been burned. MONDAY, NOV. 5 Unknown persons entered Square Links Golf Course on the 7800 block of St. Francis Road in Frankfort and unsuccessfully attempted to break into two soda machines. The offenders also removed two screens from the main building and forced open a safe with money inside. Surveillance video is being reviewed. WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7 Between Nov. 1 and Nov. 6, unknown persons removed two snowplows from the property of Lincoln-Way East High School on the 200 block of W. Colorado Avenue in Frankfort. Each snowplow was 8 feet by 10 feet wide and weighed about 900 pounds. The loss value totaled approximately $20,000. THURSDAY, OCT. 25 Deputies were called to assist the Frankfort Fire Protection District regarding a fire in Woodlawn Park in Frankfort. When the officers arrived, the fire had been extinguished. The deputies saw that two pier posts had been on fire. A garbage can and two picnic tables were floating in the water. Officers believe a spray can of Heet found near the piers was the propellant used to start the fire. Kyle J. Kodatt, 27, of the 800 block of Praire Road in New Lenox, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, violating a protection order, driving without insurance and disobeying a stop sign. McGee, 32, of the 0-100 block of 137th Place in Riverdale, were arrested for criminal trespass to state supported land at Lincoln-Way East High School at 201 W. Colorado Avenue in Frankfort. Carter and McGee had been sighted going through the garbage dumpster the previous week and warned by maintenance personnel not to return. FRIDAY, OCT. 5 Unknown persons damaged the door of a rental unit on the 1900 block of Clearing Court in New Lenox by ramming it with a vehicle. It was unknown what was stolen.
