The grandson of Will County Board Republican Chairman Jim Moustis was arrested on suspicion of stealing from his job, a source said.
A man arrested and accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his job at a cigarette wholesaler is the grandson of Will County Board Republican Chairman Jim Moustis, a source said. Nicholas Moustis, 23, of 21349 S. 80th Ave. in Frankfort, surrendered to the Mokena police on Friday and faces one count each of felony and misdemeanor theft. He posted $1,500 bail for his release. Mokena police Cmdr. Dan Rankovich said Nicholas Moustis stole more than $3,600 from his employer. The criminal complaint against Nicholas Moustis identified the victim of the theft as Mazher Khan. Khan, incidentally, has legal trouble of his own and is set to be sentenced in July—possibly to federal prison—for contraband cigarette trafficking. According to his …

THURSDAY, OCT. 25 Deputies were called to assist the Frankfort Fire Protection District regarding a fire in Woodlawn Park in Frankfort. When the officers arrived, the fire had been extinguished. The deputies saw that two pier posts had been on fire. A garbage can and two picnic tables were floating in the water. Officers believe a spray can of Heet found near the piers was the propellant used to start the fire. Kyle J. Kodatt, 27, of the 800 block of Praire Road in New Lenox, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, violating a protection order, driving without insurance and disobeying a stop sign.
