Trustees Sworn In; Village Board Approves Recapture for Silver Cross

The Village Board approved a recapture agreement to pay back Silver Cross Hospital for funding the total cost of south approach intersection improvements at the Route 6 entrance.

Trustees David Smith, Annette Bowden and Ray Tuminello were sworn in for another four-year term at the regular meeting of the New Lenox Village Board Monday. The three incumbents faced no challengers in the April 2013 election. Mayor Tim Baldermann thanked them for their years of commitment to the village and their willingness to continue toward that end.  "We have six dedicated individuals that serve up here. They do a tremendous job. There's a wealth of experience up here. They do a wonderful job."   In other business, the board approved three recapture agreements to benefit Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Boulevard. Man Convicted of Threatening SA Glasgow Unfit to Face Fresh Charges

Jason Chance, who served time in prison for threatening Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow, was found unfit to answer new allegations of threatening Silver Cross Hospital and other officials.

A downstate man already convicted of threatening Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow on Facebook was found unfit to face new charges of menacing public officials. Jason Chance, 40, was returned to jail after a Monday morning court hearing but will be transferred to a facility run by the Illinois Department of Human Services. Chance has already taken a two-year prison sentence for making threats against Glasgow in 2010. According to a criminal complaint, Chance made a Facebook post "containing a threat to rape and kill James Glasgow." Chance was also charged with "cyberstalking" Glasgow. On top of the prison sentence, Chance was also hit with 30 months of probation with special conditions. Chance allegedly violated that probation by …

Locally Crafted Glass Art Piece Honors Silver Cross Donors

Homer Glen glass artist Sheri Law created the piece that now adorns the main lobby of Silver Cross Hospital.

Silver Cross Hospital recently unveiled a major artistic addition to their main lobby. The panoramic scene of sweeping leaves skillfully crafted of custom cut glass was created by local artist Sheri Law of Sheri Law Art Glass Ltd. in Homer Glen. The hospital commissioned Law to make the piece in honor of their donors. “Since the donor wall was going to be displayed in such a visible area of the hospital, we were particular on choosing an artist with rare skills who could uniquely capture our vision – and Sheri’s exceptional talents made her the perfect choice,” Larry Johnson, vice president of the foundation at Silver Cross Hospital said. “Her ability to incorporate components of nature and motion through windswept leaves using our …

Advisory Board Gives Van to Silver Cross Hospital
