New Lenox police reports, April 22-23.
TUESDAY, APRIL 23 Sheila Townsend, 36, of the 400 block of North Center Street, Joliet, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. She is accused of taking $35 wroth of merchandise at about 10:07 p.m. from Wal-Mart, 500 Block of East Route 30. MONDAY, APRIL 22 Jennifer Thompson, 29, of the 700 block of Madison Street, Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and speeding, according to a report. She was stopped at about 2:33 a.m. near the intersection of Route 30 and Vine Street for speeding. During the stop, police noticed signs the driver was under the influence of alcohol. New Lenox police reports, April 27-28.
SUNDAY, APRIL 28 Michael Gibson, 24, of the 3300 block of Navajo Drive, New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, making an improper turn and driving without insurance, according to a report. An officer saw a car make an improper turn at about 1:25 a.m. near the intersection of Apache and Pueblo drives. Gibson was arrested and taken to the Will County jail. Tommie Brown, 34, of the 7300 block of South Kingston, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to yield to emergency vehicle and driving with a suspended license, according to a report. New Lenox police arrested a 21-year-old Joliet woman and charged her with aggravated battery.
A disturbance April 17 at Silver Cross Hospital resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Laquandra Archer, of Joliet. She was charged with aggravated battery. According to New Lenox police, Archer was taken into custody about 7:50 p.m. after a man at Silver Cross Hopital, in the 1900 Block of Silver Cross Boulevard, complained that she battered him. She was charged with aggravated battery. No further details of the incident were noted in the report. Archer was booked into Will County jail where bond was set at $70,000. New Lenox police reports, April 9-10.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10 A car was reported stolen at about 1:48 p.m. from the 1900 block of Silver Cross Boulevard, according to a report. The car was stolen out of a parking lot. The theft remains under investigation. Leon E. Scruggs, 50, no address given, was charged with criminal trespass to real property, according to a report. Officers were called at about 8:48 a.m. to the 1000 block of West Maple Road. A man was found in the garage, looking through the items. Steven J. Neiheisel, 32, of New Lenox, is charged with aggravated assault, according to police.
A 32-year-old New Lenox man is accused of threatening someone with a weapon, according to a report. Steven J. Neiheisel, of the 1700 block of Nelson Road, was charged with aggravated assault on April 10, according to a New Lenox police report. Police were called at about 4:47 p.m. to the 1700 block of Nelson Road. The alleged victim was threatened with a weapon in front of numerous witnesses, according to the report. Neiheisel was arrested without incident and taking to Will County jail. Neiheisel also was arrested March 1 by New Lenox Police, according to Will County records. New Lenox police reports, March 30-31.
SUNDAY, MARCH 31 Lawrence P. Spaulding, 35, of the 2400 block of Cattleman Drive in New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a stop sign and failing to signal, according to a report. Police reportedly saw Spaulding commit several moving violations at about 1:12 a.m. in the 100 block of Veterans Parkway and, later, determined he was under the influence.
