Nelson Road Extension Project Advancing

The Nelson Road extension project is moving forward.

The Nelson Road extension project is beginning to take shape, but accommodating pipeline companies and dealing with the landowner continues to complicate matters.   The plan to connect the south and north sides of town along Nelson Road entails the construction of a one-mile extension between Haven Avenue and Illinois Highway. The cost estimate is $4 million, according to Mayor Tim Baldermann. Village Engineer Will Nash said they are in discussion with BP Oil, Inc. staff, attempting to come up with a design that both crosses the pipeline and runs parallel to it. "You can do it.
