'Let's Hang On,' which celebrates the roaring retro success of 'Jersey Boys,' will take the spotlight at Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort.
It was 1962, and after years of struggling unsuccessfully under different band names, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons topped the charts with their first firecracker hit, “Sherry.” That was just the start of a sound that would become an iconic and lasting symbol of the mid-20th century. In the wake of the award-winning Broadway musical Jersey Boys, based on Valli’s life and the group’s rise to fame, another show has emerged, this one interactive. The rock band played at the Village Commons in New Lenox on Sunday, Aug. 14.
The Last Envy, a rock and alternative band from the area, performed at the Village Commons in New Lenox last weekend. The band was formed in 2010 and plays original songs and covers of '90s music, but also songs dating back to the 1970s. Thanks to reader Kim Zalinsky for tipping us about these videos.
