It's Playoff Time: Show Us Your Spirit

Which local team has the best fans? Upload photos of your school spirit and/or colors to find out once and for all, which schools are the best.

As the football playoffs get started in Illinois and other sports are in the postseason, we want to find out which area school has the greatest fans.  So for the next two weeks, we're asking our readers to upload pictures of their school spirit and colors. New Lenox High Schools Round 1 Playoff Schedule

IHSA announced the first-round playoff pairings for the state football playoffs Saturday night. Providence Catholic and Lincoln-Way West High Schools are headed into Round 1.

In Class 7A Providence Catholic (7-2) hosts Bradley-Bourbonnais (6-3). The game begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Bishop Kaffer Field. In Class 5A Lincoln-Way West (6-3) goes up against Rochelle High School (6-3). The game begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Rochelle High School, 1401 Flagg Road, Rochelle. Illinois High School Football Playoffs: Find Your Team's First-Round Matchup

IHSA announced the first-round playoff pairings for the state football playoffs Saturday night.

After nine weeks of surprises, comebacks and powerhouses getting the job done, it's time to start the season that matters: the playoffs.  The 256 high school football teams that qualified for the Illinois state playoffs learned their fate Saturday night when the first-round playoff pairings were announced. Teams are split into eight classes of 32 schools each based on enrollment. Class 1A is the schools with the lowest enrollment, and Class 8A has the highest. There's no other way to look at it: Class 8A is stacked with talented teams and lots of rematches. Football: Turnovers Doom Providence in Loss to Mount Carmel

Mount Carmel takes advantage of Providence Catholic's four lost fumbles, two interceptions and one turnover on downs on a rainy evening in New Lenox by scoring all of their points off Celtic turnovers in a 17-0 victory.

Breaking It Down: Providence Catholic looked like they were on their way to pulling off an upset, driving the ball to Mount Carmel's three yard line with less than a minute left in the first half and the game scoreless. But that all changed when Caravan defensive back Vincent Speller picked up Providence's fifth fumble of the first two quarters and brought it back 89 yards for a Mount Carmel touchdown. Both teams struggled to hold on to the ball on a wet, rainy night in New Lenox. Mount Carmel fumbled the ball twice, and Celtic receivers dropped at least five passes. The Celtics' defense played well enough to keep the score in reach for most of the contest, but Providence's seven total turnovers doomed them on their way to a 17-0 loss to …
