Warrant for Weed Nets Rockford Man: Police Blotter

Identity theft and fraud tap into families' accounts.

SATURDAY, FEB. 23 Registration check reveals revoked license Caruth Coco, 32, Rockford was pulled over at Rout 30 and Interstate 80 after police ran a registration check of his vehicle. Turns out he was driving on a revoked license and had no valid insurance. A computer check of information on the passenger in the car, Shara Parks, 36, Rockford, indicated that she was wanted on a warrant for possession of marijuana. The two were ticketed and released on bond. Computer check signals violation Marilu Zavala, 32, Joliet, was stopped in her car at Washington Street and Kenmore Avenue, after a random registration check. Thief Steals Name to File Tax Return: Police Blotter

DUI and criminal damage to property complaints keep New Lenox police busy.

  SUNDAY, FEB. 17 Thief grabs name for tax return Police are investigating an identity theft complaint filed by someone from the 2500 block of Kingsway Avenue. Someone used this taxpayer's name to file an income tax return. DUI and no insurance Saren Henshaw, 45, Plainfield, was pulled over in the 700 block of East Maple Road when officers noticed her driving erratically. She was issued a ticket for DUI and for driving an uninsured vehicle.  Two ticketed for driving on suspended licenses Timothy Goodman, 19, of the 200 block of Hancock Drive, was pulled over at Nelson and Spencer Roads, after a registration check revealed his license had been suspended. Police Blotter: Thief Skips Away with Stolen Golf Clubs

Identity thief attempts to open an account with Comcast.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 13 Window broken Police reported that someone broke a window at a home in the 1100 block of Pine Street. A criminal damage to property complaint was filed. Walmart halts retail theft Taylor Washington, 24, of Joliet, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft. According to the report, Walmart security stopped her when she attempted to walk out with $150 worth of merchandise without paying for it. She was taken to Will Couny Jail. WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12 Identity theft complaint Police were called to the 1000 block of Grandview Drive after a resident there discovered that someone had attempted to use his or her identity to open an account with Comcast Co.
