Patch recently received reports that a case of domestic abuse has resulted in the death of a Tinley Park woman. The incident reportedly occurred in the Brookside Glen community in south Tinley Park. OAK FOREST—Norberto Rodriguez, who was accused late last year of murdering his estranged wife Irma and attempting to hide her body, is scheduled back in court on Jan. 12, 2012, to continue pretrial hearings. He pled not guilty this past January. PALOS HILLS—A tentative trial date has been set for two men accused last summer of beating and robbing a Palos Hills woman they believed was a lesbian. Mohammed Shaban, of Hickory Hills, and Akram Alshoweat, of Oak Lawn, are scheduled back in court with attorneys on Dec. 13. If all pretrial issues have been addressed at that time, a jury trial will begin on Jan. 4, 2012. Dwight Jones, 59, of New Lenox Township, was confirmed as the victim in an apparent homicide Wednesday evening. The count coroner determined he died from blunt force trauma, but the incident is being further investigated.
Updated at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday The Will County Coroner's office positively identified Dwight Jones' body to be the one found dead in Jones' home late Tuesday night. The coroner said Jones died from blunt-force trauma, but the official cause of death has not yet been determined. Earlier, Jones' family could not make a positive identification of the body because it was too decomposed. But the coroner's office determined it to be Jones after checking his fingerprints on file with those on the body. The Will County Sheriff's Department is investigating this as a homicide and would not release many details Wednesday. The court case for an Orland Park man accused of shooting his wife moves to another date without progress.
Allan Kustok looked back at his daughter Sarah and smiled briefly before turning to face Judge David Sterba in Courtroom 101. But 59-year-old Kustok’s smile was the only different aspect to Friday’s court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse. All the court hearings since he pleaded not guilty in November to one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife Anita “Jeanie” Kustok have ended with continuances. Despite informing the court on Jan. 21 that police reports relating to the case were in the hands of her office, Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Gonzalez said Friday that evidence is still being gathered. “We are waiting on police reports and other labs,” Gonzalez said during the hearing.
