New Lenox Home Sales Up from a Year Ago

Representatives from the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors say there are signs of market acceleration as many south suburbs experienced "notable sales gains" last month compared to one year ago.

Single-family home sales in the Chicago suburbs grew 33.2 percent in April 2013, compared to the same month in 2012, according to data provided by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). In the south suburbs, sales in the majority of Patch communities aligned with this trend, with 12 out of 14 towns experiencing an increase in sales and only two towns experiencing a sales decrease. In New Lenox, 25 homes were sold in April 2013—compared to 16 in April 2012. The median price dropped 0.3 percent, from $255,770 to $255,080.  READ: NEW HOME SALES IN NEW LENOX Palos Park saw the most growth in the Southland, with eight homes sold in April 2013 and compared to three homes sold one year prior, totaling a 166.7 percent increase in sales. …

January Home Sales: New Lenox Starts 2013 With Yearly, Monthly Increases

Along with an increase in overall sales in January, New Lenox also saw the median price of homes jump 10.2 percent over the same period of time last year, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

All total 12 detached, single-family homes sold in New Lenox during January represented a 20 percent increase over January 2012, when 10 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 27 homes sold in New Lenox during December 2012, compared to 20 sold in December 2011. The median price was also up in January, coming in at $242,500—a 10.2 percent increase over the same month in 2012.  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout the Southland saw growth in January, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Evergreen Park saw the largest percent increase, with 850 percent more homes sold year over year in January.
