New Lenox police executed a search warrant in a drug-related arrest.
MONDAY, MARCH 11 Loud exhaust alerts police Henry R. Oram, 19, of the 14900 block of W. Spencer Road, was pulled over in the 100 block of Lincoln-Way Lane because the vehicle's exhaust was loud. Police then discovered that he was driving without a valid license. He was cited for both violations. SATURDAY, MARCH 9 Speeding and license violation Agustin Chaparro-Hernandez, 37, Joliet, was stopped for speeding at Route 30 and Pine Street. A computer check revealed that he had no valid driver's license and was operating an uninsured vehicle. He was cited and released. DUI and speeding Michael P. FRIDAY, FEB. 22 Giving a false name in a traffic stop ends in obstruction of justice arrest Kyle Ballard, 19, of the 2100 block of Sanford Avenue, was arrested for obstruction of justice and an in-state warrant on a misdemeanor charge. According to the report, Ballard was a passenger in a suspicious car at Cooper Road and Lincoln Highway. When asked to identify himself, police say Ballard initially gave a false name because he feared there was a warrant out for his arrest. When his true identity was revealed, Ballard was arrested for the in-state warrant, and police added obstruction of justice to the list. SUNDAY, FEB. 17 Thief grabs name for tax return Police are investigating an identity theft complaint filed by someone from the 2500 block of Kingsway Avenue. Someone used this taxpayer's name to file an income tax return. DUI and no insurance Saren Henshaw, 45, Plainfield, was pulled over in the 700 block of East Maple Road when officers noticed her driving erratically. She was issued a ticket for DUI and for driving an uninsured vehicle. MOKENA Feb. 8: Taiwo Erinle, 32, of New Lenox, was found passed out at the wheel of his car with the engine running. The car was found at 3:45 a.m. Feb. 8 in the middle of two lanes of traffic on 191st St. at Wolf Road. According to the report, police said Taiwo Erinle's foot was on the brake, but the car was in the drive position. He was passed out at the wheel with the windows rolled up and rap music blaring. The officer drove the squad about six inches in front of Erinle's car. He placed a push bar between the two bumpers to prevent Erinle's car from moving into traffic unexpectedly. CHICAGO HEIGHTS Feb. 4: Damen L. Ingram, of the 23400 block of Western Avenue in Park Forest was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him near the intersection of Euclid and Main Street for turning without signaling, according to the report. When asked for his license and proof of insurance, Ingram silently stared at the officer, police said. Asked a second time, Ingram handed police his identification card, then went back to staring with a blank expression. The officer clarified that he needed Ingram's driver's license, not a state ID, and Ingram handed him his license. Police could smell alcohol on his breath, according to the report. Prosecutors want blood samples tested in the case against an Orland Park man charged with reckless homicide after a crash that killed a Lockport nurse.
Investigators were directed in a hearing Tuesday to conduct a DNA analysis of blood found at the scene of a DUI-related fatal accident last summer. A Lockport nurse was killed in the crash at LaGrange Road and 95th Street. Heidi Roseen, a 51-year-old nurse, was killed July 8 in an accident on her way to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Matthew Senica, 25, pleaded not guilty to 14-counts of aggravated DUI and one count of reckless homicide, according to an Orland Park Patch story. At a Tuesday hearing before Cook County Judge Carmen K. Aguilar at the Bridgeview Courthouse, prosecutors were authorized to conduct DNA testing on blood samples found at the scene.
