The Makena Hartlin Band is playing this month at the Congress Theater this month.
Two Lincoln-Way Central High School graduates have joined forces to bring their own flavor of country music to the stage. Dave Skala does his magic both on stage and from his Orland Park recording studio, while Makena Hartlin belts out a melody that makes her music something special in a kind of raspy way. Hartlin lends not only her talent but also her name to the band. The Makena Hartland Band—she's the lead singer and Skala plays drums—features a few other multitalented musicians as well. After only four months together, they're in sync on the style of songs that speaks to the soul. New Lenox's inaugural Country in the Commons event is tonight, with country vocalist of the year nominee Sara Evans headlining the show. Sara Evans will perform in New Lenox on Friday, June 22. The tickets are separate from the Triple Play Concert Series and will be $25 for residents.
After hearing from residents who wanted a country artist to headline one of New Lenox's summer concerts, the village is adding a fourth show with country star Sara Evans. The concert is Friday, June 22 in the Village Commons and is separate from the Triple Play Concert Series featuring Night Ranger, Heart and Styx. Tickets for the Sara Evans show go on sale March 19 and will be $25 for residents in the 60451 zip code through April 27. After that, tickets will be open to anyone and cost $30. I would have never known she was playing here in NL. I saw it in the patch today only because there was an article stating that no many tickets were sold. Not very good publicity...thats the reason why.   more ›
