A two-part NLPD investigation led to the arrest of Michael McGrath.
The arrest of a New Lenox man for child pornography and cocaine on Feb. 12 was the result of a two-part investigation by law enforcement. According to New Lenox Police Sgt. Louis Alessandrini, the investigation of Michael McGrath, 22, of the 100 block of Terry Ellen Lane, began the week before. A warrant was issued Feb. 8 to search his home. "We were doing a drug investigation on Friday and recovered several grams of cocaine" from the home, said Alessandrini. McGrath, who was brought in for questioning, gave police permission to search his phone. A New Lenox man is facing two counts of child pornography and manufacture or delivery of cocaine. Michael McGrath, 22, of the 100 block of Terry Ellen Lane, was busted in what started as a narcotics investigation by New Lenox police, according to a story in the Southtown Star. A stop for speeding results in arrest for suspected cocaine.
A 42-year-old Hickory Hills man was arrested for possession of suspected cocaine and DUI after a traffic stop about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 9 at Gougar and Francis Roads. According to the New Lenox police report, Mark Cerda was pulled over for speeding and failure to yield. An investigation revealed that Cerda had been drinking.
