I do agree with a few people here, it's obvious jamie has a vendeta with a place she only ate at once. And to claim food poisoning for your mother after the fact they were declared the winner (by a landslide) is a little suspicious. Not to mention, you never did actually suggest an item on mcgees menu. I doubt you've ever been there. Everyone remembers their favorite meal!   more ›

For this week's Chowdown Showdown, we skipped the meal and went right to dessert, trying pie in Frankfort, New Lenox and Mokena. Read our reviews below, learn how to post your own and comment for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. The good: Fresh pie on a nice graham cracker crust, fluffy whipped cream. It's worth noting that the banana cream pie is the only pie that you don't need to order in advance. For this week's Chowdown Showdown, we dined on soup from eateries in Frankfort, New Lenox and Mokena. Local editors Joe Vince (Frankfort), Michael Sewall (New Lenox) and Paul Dailing (Mokena) tried a bowl at restaurants in their respective Patch towns. Read our reviews below, learn how to post your own and comment for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. The good: The diner offers homemade soup—and chili—daily, and I tried a bowl of the cream of chicken and rice. It's a nice treat on a brisk afternoon. The soup is smooth with just the right amount of thickness. Plus, it is packed with good-sized chunks of chicken.  The bad: Although it was creamy, the soup tasted watered down and flat. It could've stood to have a little …

Read our reviews below, learn how to post your own and comment for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant. The good: Caffe Milan might be the new Frankfort Patch coffee shop of choice.
