THURSDAY, MARCH 14 Someone stole a black 2013 Cadillac Escalade from the driveway of a home in the 300 block of of West Woodlawn Road in New Lenox. Like the Crime-n-Shame Facebook page for tales of mischief and woe from all over the Chicago area. Someone broke into a work van and took $4,500 worth of heating and cooling tools. The burglary took place in the 1300 block of Regan Road. Police report information is provided by the Frankfort Police Department, Will County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies. SATURDAY, DEC. 22 Unknown persons entered a barn on the 9800 block of W. Stuenkel Road in Green Garden and stole an ATV. Unknown persons stole a 2007 GMC Yukon from the driveway of a residence on the 92000 block of W. Magnolia in Mokena. Sheriff’s deputies received a call from Oak Forest Police on Dec. 25 stating that the vehicle had been recovered, although it had been burned. THURSDAY, FEB. 2 Tanesha D. Thompson, 31, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran her license plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80. TUESDAY, JAN. 31 Rogelio Ibarra-Villalba, 31, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police stopped him near Gougar and Maple roads. MONDAY, JAN. 30 WEDNESDAY, JAN. 25 Someone used fraudulent information to apply for a car loan at Lightning Motors, 401 N. Vine St., but it wasn't discovered to be fake until the car was already off the lot. Police are searching for the vehicle but refused to give any information about the type of car. The Will County Sheriff's Department is investigating the Jan. 21 car theft from U.S. 30 Automotive.
Police are searching for a car that was stolen last week from a New Lenox auto dealer. An unidentified man drove off the lot of U.S. 30 Automotive, 12820 Clyde Court, with a black 2007 Chevy TrailBlazer last Saturday, Jan. 21. At about 10:20 p.m., a car drove to the south side of the building and a man dressed in black left the vehicle. He got into the TrailBlazer and started the car, then got out to brush off snow and put on a license plate, Will County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said. Police reviewed video surveillance but could not make out a better description of the man or the license plate numbers he put on the stolen car. SUNDAY, JULY 17 Claude Zivojinovic, 35, of Palos Hills, was charged with possession of marijuana after police randomly ran his license plates and discovered he was driving without a valid license. Police searched his vehicle and found 6.7 grams of marijuana, according to the report. A resident on the 2000 block of Nelson Road told police that a window on the home was damaged overnight Saturday. While investigating a previous call about property damage, an officer noticed a vehicle on the 800 block of Westwind Drive that had its side-view mirror damaged. More than 10 car burglaries were reported to police last Saturday in the area near Cooper, Schoolgate and Stonegate roads.
Article updated at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday Shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, resident Brian Wolf's son woke him up and said there was a group of teens outside trying to get into one of the family's cars on the 800 block of Stonegate. The kids had gotten into an unlocked car and stolen some items, then moved onto a neighbor's house. Wolf said he called the police, who told him not to chase after the group. Police responded to the scene, and Wolf's son gave the following description for police to work off: two teenage boys, one with reflective shoes, and one teenage girl who had curly blonde hair and a black T-shirt.
