New Lenox's "Allied Forces" in the battle against unemployment—The Village of New Lenox, New Lenox Library and the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce—is sponsoring the second in a series of Boot Camp for Job Seekers events. Boot Camp for Job Seekers is slated from 6-7:30 p.m. April 2 at New Lenox Library, 120 Veterans Parkway. The guest speaker, Chris Hogan, of New Lenox, plans to unveil the secret weapon in achieving meaningful employment. Hogan, who is the vice president of sales for a recruiting firm, AvatureCRM, will be sharing the ins and outs of how companies actually find their employees. New Lenox Makes an All-Out Assault on Unemployment

At Boot Camp for Job Seekers, the village, library and the business community joined forces to hit unemployment with all the gusto it can.

At Boot Camp for Job Seekers, human resource coaches assembled their forces in the quiet of the New Lenox Public Library. From that strategic location, they worked with job seekers to identify the enemy—poor resumes, awkward cover letters, fear of job interviews and lack of preparation for today's market. Armed with the kind of ammunition it takes to overcome joblessness, the team of human resource coaches swooped in barely noticed by the patrons who were there to select books, conduct research or study. For three hours Nov. 14, the coaches worked one-on-one with job seekers desperate to abandon the ranks of the unemployed. Looking for a Job? Try Boot Camp for Job Seekers

Job Fair Boot Camp is an all-out effort to assist job seekers in New Lenox.

A joint effort by the Village of New Lenox, the Library and the Chamber of Commerce is taking aim at joblessness. As a result, they've created an intensive program called "Boot Camp for Job Seekers." The heart of the program is the availability of one-on-one resume and cover letter reviews. The program, scheduled to take place from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 at the New Lenox Public Library, is an all-out effort to get people back to work, said Nancy Hoehn, village economic development director. Pros from the human resources (HR) field and related experts are working together to help employment seekers overcome the hurdles of landing a job.
