Police Blotter: Car Stolen From New Lenox Home

New Lenox police reports, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 2 Stolen car A 2009 white Toyota Camry was stolen from a driveway in the 300 block of Arbor Hill Court. The car was left unlocked with the keys in the vehicle, said Deputy Chief Robert Pawlisz. Police are investigating the incident.  SATURDAY, SEPT. 1 Tickets issued Juan Medina, 46, of Joliet, was ticketed for improper passing in the 400 block of East Route 30. A computer check of his license revealed that his license had been suspended. He was ticketed for both matters. iPad theft Police say they were called by Walmart officials in reference to the theft of two iPads. The value of the merchandise was not revealed in the report. Sheriff's Blotter: Car Stolen From New Lenox Home

Two more cars in the same block were burglarized before someone took off with the Chevy Malibu, police said.

A car was stolen from a New Lenox home and multiple others were burglarized in the same block last week, according to the Will County Sheriff's Department. According to police reports, a resident in the 200 block of Roberts Road in New Lenox reported a car missing from the driveway on Monday, Aug. 6. The car was unlocked, and there was a spare ignition key left in the cup holder. The car, a 2009 white Chevy Malibu, was stolen between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. The sheriff's department has turned over the investigation to the Tri-County Auto Theft division. Meanwhile, a second vehicle in the same driveway was entered and a debit card was stolen from that car.  Also on the same road, a GPS unit, 15 CDs and $8 in change was stolen from another …

Police: Man Stole Car, Led Police on Chase

Patrick C. McCleary, 20, of New Lenox, was charged with motor vehicle theft, burglary and more after police said he stole a car from a New Lenox home Wednesday morning.

A New Lenox man is in custody at Will County Jail after stealing a car and fleeing an officer, police said. Patrick C. McCleary, 20, of the 300 block of Rossford Lane in New Lenox, was charged with motor vehicle theft, burglary, attempting to flee an officer, speeding, improper lane usage and driving without a valid license.  His bond was set at $35,000, and he's set to appear in court June 28.  An officer said McCleary was going 80 mph in a 45-mph zone at Route 30 and Dougall Road in New Lenox Township at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Will County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.  A chase ensued until McCleary took a sharp left and hit a pile of debris. Police: Tinley Man Used Heroin in Stolen Car

Police say Justin F. Benoit, 30, stole a car from a New Lenox home after he was released from Silver Cross Hospital and drove it to Chicago to use heroin.

A Tinley Park man was booked into Will County jail Sunday after he stole a car in New Lenox and drove it to Chicago to use heroin, police said.  Justin F. Benoit, 30, of the 8800 block of 176th Street in Tinley Park, was charged in Will County with residential burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle. Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz of the New Lenox Police Department said Benoit was also charged with heroin possession in Cook County. Pawlisz said Benoit was released from Silver Cross Hospital, where he stayed for an unspecified chemical dependency treatment. Benoit left on foot and went to a home in the 1100 block of West Route 6, which is near the hospital. New Lenox police were called to a home at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in …

New Lenox police reports, March 9-11.

SUNDAY, MARCH 11 Someone stole a car from the driveway of a home in the 400 block of Cedar Road in New Lenox. Thomas Benson, 31, of the 400 block of Circlegate Road in New Lenox, was charged with battery after hitting someone at Silver Cross Hospital at about 4:30 a.m. Police said Benson was being treated at the hospital and was intoxicated. He was taken to Will County Jail pending a bond hearing. Juan Morales-Lopez, 29, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and improper registration. SUNDAY, MARCH 4 Kyle Smolucka, 19, of the 2800 block Rydal Street in New Lenox was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal consumption of alcohol by minor, illegal parking and possession of fake drivers license. He was stopped by county police in Jackson. SATURDAY, MARCH 3 Someone stole a subwoofer and amplifier from a car parked in the 400 block of Old Hickory Road in New Lenox Township. TUESDAY, FEB. 28 A 1998 Honda Accord was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Branchaw Boulevard in New Lenox Township on Feb. 27. Car Stolen From Lightning Motors

The 2002 GMC Sierra was reported missing Friday morning.

Police reported a car stolen late last week from Lightning Motors, a used and pre-owned car dealership in New Lenox. The owner of the dealership told police a blue 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 was missing from the lot early Friday morning when he arrived to work. It was there when he left the previous day, the owner said. New Lenox Police Department Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz said there was no surveillance video at Lightning Motors, 410 Vine St., and there are no leads yet. The vehicle has been entered into a law enforcement database so officers everywhere will be notified the vehicle is stolen. Police Blotter: Car, Snow Blower Stolen

Will County Sheriff's reports, Jan. 24-31.

A New Lenox resident on the 300 block of West Circle Drive told police that a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo was stolen from the driveway. A woman on the 1800 block of Elm Street said someone made five purchases totaling about $900 using her checking account. A man on the 2800 block of Oak Rail Drive was removing snow from several driveways in his neighborhood using his snow blower. He set the snow blower down near the street and went to talk with a neighbor on the porch. In the time he was talking to the neighbor, which was about 10 minutes, he said a white van with no side windows pulled up and the driver briefly exited.
