May 10: For some mornings, it's better just to sleep in. Jacalyn Harvey-Jaconetty, 52, of the 7400 block of Choctaw Road, Palos Heights, was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash and improper parking on the roadway, according to a report. Police responded at a about 9:20 a.m. to reports of a driver hitting several mailboxes. Witnesses stopped the vehicle in the 12800 block of South Winnebago Road, according to the report. The driver, Harvey-Jaconetty, appeared lethargic and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. Bail was set at $1,500. The Frankfort pediatrician charged with molesting five women in his doctor's office appeared in court.
Dr. Kishor Jain—the Frankfort pediatrician charged with molesting five women in his Colorado Avenue office and named as a defendant in five civil lawsuits—appeared in court this week. This time, Jain, 59, was around for his criminal case. The special prosecutor appointed to Jain's case said he produced police reports and video evidence, but needs time to come up with more material for the defense. The Will County Sheriff's Office was notified of a suspicious package at U.S. 30 and Spencer Road just before 9:30 a.m. today, Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas said.
A suspicious package containing a bomb-like item found along U.S. 30 this morning was investigated by the Cook County Bomb Squad and determined to be box of used commercial smoke-effects devices. The Will County Sheriff's Office learned about the package, which was spotted in an area near U.S. 30 and Spencer Road, at about 9:25 a.m. and called in the bomb squad to determine what it was, Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas said. "Units responded and located a package that upon initial review appeared to have some type of explosive device inside," Kaupas said. Frankfort pediatrician Kishor Jain was in Will County court for his criminal sex case.
The prosecutor trying a Frankfort pediatrician charged with groping five women in his Colorado Avenue office said he has handed over evidence in the case. "I tendered the police reports and video, but I need a little more time," special prosecutor Dave Neal told Judge Robert Livas during a Wednesday morning hearing at the Will County Courthouse. Neal, was appointed to the criminal case against Dr. Kishor Jain, due to a conflict with a staffer in the state's attorney's office, said he had additional evidence to provide. Jain, 59, faces 10 counts of felony criminal sexual abuse, five counts of misdemeanor battery, and a single count of criminal sexual assault for allegedly groping five women while working at the Hedges Clinic. SATURDAY, MAY 18 Police were called to Circle K, located in the 400 block of Nelson Road, for a report of a stolen garbage can, according to a report. A 13-year-old Frankfort girl has gone missing.
UPDATE: 10:55 a.m. Monday Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan reported that the missing girl has been found. She is safe and sound. ... Original Story: Frankfort Police are attempting to find a missing 13-year-old girl who left home sometime before 8 a.m. today. While neither the girl's name nor a photo has been released, she is described as being 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighing 95 pounds. She has dark brown hair. There was no clothing description available. Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan said the girl's parents said she apparently took along a small amount of money, packed some clothes in a black backpack and left on a blue mountain bike. THURSDAY, MAY 16 Andrew Chambers, 19, of the 700 block of Brockwood, New Lenox, was charged with aggravated assault, according to a report. An officer was called at about 4:03 p.m. to the area of Bently and Lake for a report of an assault. Chambers is accused of making a threat while displaying a knife. WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 About $70 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart, located in the 500 block of East Route 30, according to a report. The theft happened at about 6:10 p.m. Keith Richards, 41, of the 900 block of Summit, Joliet, was charged with burglary, according to a report. A Joliet man who stole a woman's purse and then fled in a stolen car, only to crash into a semi on Interstate 80, was arrested Saturday on a slew of charges, including driving under the influence of drugs, Illinois State Police said. Matthew J. Boban, 32, of 521 Mack, was charged after being treated at Silver Cross Medical Center in New Lenox for injuries suffered during the crash. The incident began shortly after noon Saturday when Boban allegedly snagged a woman's purse while in the parking lot of a Joliet Jewel-Osco store at 1401 W. Jefferson St. and then fled in a car taken from a friend, state police said. There was a second person in the car, but it's not known if it was the car's owner.
