Candidate Questions

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I am running for the position of School Board Member because I am passionate about the children of New Lenox receiving an exemplary education.  I want to ensure that, while the District maintains a fiscal responsibility to the community, it also prepares students with a competitive education and opportunities in academics, the arts and athletics.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

If elected, my number one priority is to maintain education and opportunities for the children of this community in spite of the lack of financial support from the State of Illinois.  This community deserves and demands great schools and I am happy to work hard for that to happen.

What sets you apart from the other candidates, if contested?

What sets me apart from the other candidates is that I have a presence in the schools. I attend all trainings and Board Meetings, but I make sure to volunteer and visit the schools often. It's important to understand the business sense, but it's also important to actually see our schools running and day to day operations.

What's your favorite thing about the school district and the board?

The New Lenox School District 122 Board of Education works very hard to represent the children and the taxpayers of this community. Our Board is very thorough and works hard to educate and be educated about the decisions we make.

What is the biggest challenge facing the school board?

The biggest challenge of the New Lenox School District Board of Education is definitley a lack of commitment by the State of Illinois to funding to the education system.
