Safe Ride Home Program

Orland Park, Tinley Park, Palos Heights, New Lenox and Mokena
Police departments from four communities have joined forces to minimize drunk drivers on the road over New Year’s Eve. Get a free ride home, but not to other bars. Call your police department for more details, or call Stretch Limousine at 844-230-1637 to arrange a ride from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 4:00 a.m. Wednesday. 

Orland Park

There are two different events on Dec. 31. Families can join the fun from 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. by reserving lanes for 2 hours. The cost is $80 per lane for a maximum of six bowlers, and includes a family size pizza, pop and shoe rental. Adults can stick around after 10 p.m. for a late night bowl that is $65 per person. It includes live music from 10 pm to 1 a.m., cosmic bowling, shoe rental, open bar, dinner buffet, party favors, and countdown fun. This is adults only, must be 21 to enter. 

Silver Lake Country Club

For $95, partygoers will receive a menu of filet mignon, chicken cordon bleu dinner, top shelf open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and gourmet desserts. Entertainment will be available in different rooms, including The Dancing Noodles Band and two DJs. There will also be a photo booth. Reservations are required. Email events@silverlakecc.com. 

Tinley Park

The Ashford House is the restaurant owned by Winston’s Market, known for famous Irish foods. The restaurant will feature a special menu for New Year’s, along with its regular menu. Dining hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to about 10 p.m. Winston’s is known for its Irish sausage and soda bread. For more information and reservations, call the number above.

Mokena

Enjoy a 4-course filet mignon meal, premium open bar and DJ starting at 7:30 p.m. Live music provided by The Music Pros. Tickets are $90 per person. 

New Lenox

Enjoy a champagne fountain through out the night. Food will be catered by Ambrosinio’s, including lemon chicken, tortellini in vodka sauce, roast beef and more. For $70, guests can experience a premium open bar, appetizers all night, music, giveaways and champagne toast at midnight. It goes from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Bring a dish to pass at the VFW with an open jukebox night. There will be drink specials and food. The VFW also features video gaming machines for players over 21. 

Frankfort

Reservations are still available for dinner at Francesca’s Fortunato. Diner’s can make reservations online. Current dinner menus can be viewed online, also.  Francesca’s offers a “sophisticated trattoria ambiance”  in the quaint Frankfort town center. 

Joliet

Start with an Irish New Year’s Party from 4 to 7 p.m. by ringing in the new year on Ireland time. Live music will be provided by local music great John Condron. There will be a Two Gingers Whiskey sampling from 5 to 7 p.m. Dinner seating will be available by reservation only, then others on a first-come-first-serve basis. Chicago Street Pub menu features a range of Irish and American meal classics.

Bring your dancing shoes and join the band Saints N Sinners for a west-side new year’s eve party starting at 8 p.m. Jimmy Bernard is the opening act. Tickets are $25 and include appetizers and a bottle of champagne on each table. 

Lemont

People not interested in getting locked in to a package deal can have a nice night at Front Street Cantina. Offering its regular menu, guests will enjoy the acoustic duo, Bobby and Steve, from 8 p.m. to midnight, with a champagne toast.

Oak Forest

Tickets include a buffet dinner in the Tara room at 5 p.m. Costs are $26 for adults, $10 for children, and free for ages 3 and under. Kara and Jerry Eadie will play for the family party, then in the Carraig Pub starting at 8:30 p.m. There is no cover charge in the pub.

Oak Lawn

Count down the Irish New Year at 6 p.m. local time, which will be midnight in the Emerald Isle. Start your party at 5 p.m. at Clancy’s, followed by live Irish music by the John Williams Band of Merriment. Clancy’s offers a full restaurant as well as bar. 

Olympia Fields

The black-tie optional celebration will benefit the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. It will feature a string quartet concert, an elegant dinner, and dancing to the Alex Blomarz Quintet. There will be a sparkling toast at midnight. Tickets are $150 per person and have a cash bar. 

Palos Heights

Ring in the new year at noon instead of midnight at the Palos Heights Parks and Recreation Department. The rec center will be converted into a Time Square, targeted for families with children 10 and under. This is a free event, and includes pizza lunch and fun.
