Child-Like Faith
but Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.’ ~ Matthew 19.14
Vacation Bible School has begun with many youngsters eagerly joining in the lessons, games, songs and fellowship of “Kingdom Rock!” What a joy it is to see the children throughout the church building learning about Christ and His love for them and all those around them. Children are like sponges – they absorb all of this information and carry it home to share with others in their family and their friends in the neighborhood. The songs they learn may be heard during the car rides home and throughout their homes as they go about the remainder of their day with the music still playing through their heads. They may chatter up a storm at the dinner table as they relate all that they experienced at VBS.
Oh, for us adults to have the same eagerness to learn about our Lord and Savior would be amazing! To pull out our Bible and read a little bit each day to better acquaint ourselves once again to the Jesus we knew as children or even to just get to know Him for the first time in our lives would be such a gift to our Heavenly Father. Christ would be smiling to see us singing the old, familiar hymns or the newer contemporary songs of praise throughout our daily tasks or as we travel from place to place doing our errands. Best of all would be for us to be like little children – excitedly sharing this faith of ours with all those around us. Are you ready to become like a child again? Jump into your Bible, turn on the Christian radio stations and start living the joyful life of a child of God!

Sometimes we would love to “turn back the clock” and become children again. Help us to find our child-like faith in You and share it with others, for when our hearts are full of faith in You, we are once again “young at heart” as we eagerly await Your kingdom. Amen.
