Crash on I-80 EB Involved 2 Trucks

A traffic backup Tuesday morning on I-80 eastbound between Mokena and New Lenox involved two trucks.

A crash about 9:45 a.m. Oct. 1 on Interstate 80 in the eastbound lanes between Mokena and New Lenox causes a traffic backup from Harlem to Larkin Avenues.   

Illinois State Police report that a crash about 9:45 a.m. Oct. 1 on eastbound Interstate 80 at mile marker 143 between Mokena and New Lenox involved a pickup truck and a semi-tractor truck.

According to Sgt. Martez Malone, the driver of the semi-tractor truck was changing lanes and crossed in front of a pickup truck. The pickup truck driver lost control of the vehicle and landed in the right ditch.

The identities of the two drivers were not released.

One person reportedly suffered minor injuries, ISP said.  The accident is still under investigation.
