WILL COUNTY FOREST PRESERVE PRESENTS THE GOODENOW GROVE FALL FEST

BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY TO ENJOY A GREAT DAY AT A GREAT FOREST PRESERVE

Attend the Grand Re-Opening of Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve, Saturday, September 15th, from 11 am to 5 pm for Free Family Fun.  Located at 27064 S. Dutton Road, Beecher, it is east of Illinois Highway 1 off Goodenow Road. 

There will be Pumpkin Painting, Farm Animals, Live Music, Children's Activities and Food Vendors.  Goodenow Grove Fall Fest will also provide an opportunity to explore the new renovations to the preserve, including a nature play area along with outdoor gardens and the addition of three miles of new trails for walkers, runners, bicycles and horse riders. 

Improvements include: New entrance walkway with native plantings, rock outcroppings, dry creek, sidewalk leaf etchings, salamander sculputre, light pole banners & art elements.  Nature sancturary with a fence that you can peek through, water feature, bird feeders & bird houses.  Pollinator garden with sidewalk etchings of honeybee & bee waggle dance, & a honeycomb climber.  Rain garden with dry creek & rain chains.  Rabbit trail with vine tunnel, oversized mushrooms, log hideout, loose twigs & logs for play, & stepping stones.  Tree walk with tree fort below & a talking tube between the two levels as well as an acorn drop tube.

There is a new Plum Creek Greenway Trail which is 3.06 miles one way, which is 10 feet wide, surfaced with limestone screenings.  The trail has a new spectacular 267 foot long boardwalk bridge rising 40 feet over a ravine.
