WILL COUNTY BOARD MEETING REPORT FOR OCTOBER 2012

Report on October Will County Board Meeting

The following items were approved by the Will County Board:

Accepted donations from the Joliet Elk's Club in the amount of $1,000 for the Juvenile Drug Court and $2,000 for the Veteran's Court.

Approved a Special Use Permit for Package Liquor Sales for a store located on the south side of St. Francis Road, west of Frankfort Square Road in Frankfort Township.

Approved a zoning map amendment from A-1 to R-2A for a one acre parcel, located on the north side of W. Steger Road, west of 104th Avenue in Frankfort Township.

Approved a Temporary Use Permit for a Cancer Society Fundraiser on the Munoz property on North Gougar Road for 3 Holiday Events at Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Approved Estimate of Annual Aggregate Property Tax Levy in the amount of $111,744,299 which is less than last year's levy.

Approved the establishment of a policy for the installation of Automatic Vehicle Location/GPS Systems on Will County Department of Highway Trucks, which will show amount of salt spread and roads plowed by snow plows as well as location of two sign repair trucks. It should aid in the dispatch of trucks and improve public safety. 

Authorized the Will County Public Building Commission to execute a professional services agreement with DLR Group for the Laraway Road Site Analysis, Programming and Concept Planning for future development of County Facilities at the County owned site near Cherry Hill Road. 

Approved hiring two new employees in the Information and Computer Technology Department under the County Executive due the demand for more services.

WILL COUNTY FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICT NEWS;

Enbridge Energy has donated $10,000 to the Forest Preserve District of Will County for trailhead signage at Centennial Trail - Schneider's Passage and Isle a la Cache Musem in Romeoville.  The two new interpretive signs will replace and update signs that have become weathered with age.  Enbridge has hereby demonstrated an ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.
