Will County Board Meeting Report, April 2012

The County Board opposed closing the Tinley Park Mental Health Center and approved other items.

The County Board(CB) approved a Zoning Map Amendment from A-1 to E-2 for a 2.7 acre parcel at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road and Francis Road in New Lenox Township for the building of a residence.

The CB adopted the Fairmont Neighborhood Plan, which was created over the past year by planners from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and local residents as a road map for future development of the Fairmont area.

The CB accepted a $750,000 grant from the State of Illinois for Floodway improvements of the Sunnyland drainage way in Plainfield Township.

The CB appropriated $37,540 grant in the Sheriff's budget for Commercial Motor Vehicle Speed and Enforcement Program.

The CB appropriated $199,422 grant in the Sheriff's budget for a Buffer Zone Protection Program from Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

The CB approved a resolution opposing the closure of the Illinois Youth Center located in Joliet. 

The CB approved a resolution opposing the closure of the Tinley Park Mental Health Center.

The CB approved the acceptance of Credit Cards for the payment of Real Estate Taxes by the Treasurer's office.  A 2% convenience fee is required for use of Credit Cards.

The CB approved an annual renewal($25,000) of Household Hazardous Waste Collection site for use by Will County residents at the City of Naperville, located near the fire station just south of I-88 on the Eastside of Rt. 59.
