REPORT ON WILL COUNTY BOARD MEETING FEBRUARY 2013

SEE ACTION ITEM OF WILL COUNTY BOARD AND FOREST PRESERVE BOARD

The follwing items were approved by the Will County Board in February:

Abated a portion of Will County realestate taxes for Vintage Tech Inc, to locate to an industrial park site in Plainfield.  This will create 25 new jobs and retain 84 jobs.

Abated a portion of Will County realestate taxes for Peterson Mfg. Co. to locate in Plainfield.  This will create 12 new jobs and retain 44 jobs.

Voted to abate property tax levi for 2012 for 5 bond issues worth $143.8 Million.  The bond levi's will be paid out of other existing County revenues.  This will save property owners money from going to their realestate tax bills this year.

Approved $2000 for title search of property at Cedar and Laraway Roads in New Lenox for records of property needed for roadway intersection improvements.

Approved appropriation of $3000 Grant Funds from National Association of County & City Health Officials for a Tobacco Prevention Program by the Will County Health Dept.

Approved appropriation of $35,000 in Grant Funds from Illinois Dept. of Health for funding a HIV/AIDS  Prevention Program by the Will County Health Dept.

Approved appropriation of $10,000 in Grant Funds from the Illinois Dept. of Health for funding Vaccines for Children to be used by the Will County Health Dept. 

Approved the appointment of Shawn Walsh as new Regional Supt. of Schools for Will County.  He was the former Assistant Regional Supt. of Schools. 

WILL COUNTY FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICT BUSNESS ITEM FEBRUARY

Approved award of contract to ASE Illini-Scapes, Inc. of Romeoville in the amount of $44,967 for Drain Tile Removal at Hadley Valley Preserve north of New Lenox at Bruce Road access. 

Approved continuation of District Review Engineers contracts with HR Green of New Lenox and Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd of Rosemont.
