REPORT ON MARCH 2013 WILL COUNTY BOARD MEETING

SEE WILL COUNTY BOARD ACTION ITEM!

The following items were approved by the Will County Board at the March Board Meeting:

  • Appropriated $402,672 from the Sheriff's Weight Scale Fund to purchase 14 Ford Interceptor Police Cars and two administrative Ford Taurus cars. 
  • Rebated $82,579 in property tax payments to Edwards Hospital in Plainfield and $365,351 to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital for years 2008-2011 due to legislation changing their status to nonprofit. 
  • Voted down change in zoning from C3 to C2 for a new gas station to be located on Harlem ave. between 194th St. and 195th St. Also voted down Special Use Permit for Car Wash, Drive Thru Window for Food Service and Liquor Sales.
  • Approved State and Federal Legislative Agenda item for proposed Peotone Airport to have Will County be a major governing body member if airport is ever built.
  • Approved bid of $2.3 Million for black top overlay of Laraway Road from Rt 52 to Harlem Ave. and Cherry Hill Road from Laraway Road to Rt. 52. 
  • Approved $1.8 Million for Phase I Engineering of Laraway Road from Route 52 to Cedar Road to widen to four lanes. 
  • Formed a Sub-committee to work with the Land Use Dept. and stakeholders to update Will County Building Code over the next 6 months.

Will County Forest Preserve District Meeting Items:

  • Approved purchase of 3 Ford Interceptor Police cars from Currie Motors in Frankfort for a bid of $75,435.
  • Renewed agreements with  HR Green Engineering and Christophere Burke Engineering of New Lenox as District Review Engineers.
  • Held open houses this week on proposed Bike Trail along the Eastside of I-355 Right-of-way from New Lenox to Lemont.
