Top Singers Sought for Karaoke Contest Fundraiser

The Young Professionals of Southwest Community Services are looking for singers for an outdoor karaoke contest to raise money to provide people with disabilities social and entertainment activities.

The members of the Young Professionals of Southwest Community Services (SCS) are proud to announce their inaugural karaoke contest ‘Singing for SCS”. This event is scheduled for August 10 at Tinley Bowl, 7601 W. 183rd. Street Tinley Park and will take place in their beer garden, making it the first outdoor karaoke contest of its kind.

We are looking for 40 of the top singers in the area to compete for 1st. through 10th place. First prize is $300, 2nd prize is $200 and 3rd prize is $100. Various raffle prizes will be awarded for 4th through 10th. Cost to compete is $20 and you must be 21 or older to enter. Each contestant will be reserved 2 VIP seats for friends and family at a cost of $10 per seat. All types of music are welcome.

Proceeds from this event will provide social and entertainment activities to the consumers of Southwest Community Services and the children from Southwest Therapy and Rehabilitation Services (STARS), a program of SCS. Activities include the Spring Fling dance,bowling and pizza party, Halloween Hip Hop dance, and Halloween costume party. We also hope to be able to offer them more community integration activities with the money raised.

To be considered as a contestant you may email the link to You Tube (or other online source) of your performance or you can send a video file to chevycounty13@yahoo.com. You may also audition at a local karaoke night by calling Tim at (708) 244-3906 for a location and time. All contestants will be selected at the discretion of The Young Professionals of Southwest Community Services.
