Park Party Overwhelming Success

Residents came out in full force this Monday to enjoy the Park Party at Marley Creek Park in Mokena.

Mokena, IL: Residents came out in full force this Monday to enjoy the Park Party at Marley Creek Park in Mokena. Just off of 191st street and 104th Avenue, the free event lasted between 6pm - 8pm and was presented by the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association in conjunction with multiple vendors in the area.

”It was a great turnout and we look forward to the next one!”, said Thomas Moore, Public Relations Coordinator at LWSRA, “This is a great chance to get in touch with the community and really get our name out there.”

Over a hundred participants enjoyed the free family activities which included a DJ dance party courtesy of Wallace Entertainment, a jumpy castle delivered by Party Hoppers.net, and surprise guest mascots including the Chick-Fil-A Cow and Rassy the Moose of Rasmussen College.

Families were given the opportunity to learn about local businesses and services in their area. Vendors included Scentsy Candles, Stick Man’s Games, Uniquely Dyed, Covered in Chocolate, In.Purseinators, Tabletop Beanbag Games, Jamberry, Pampered Chef, Rasmussen College, Chiro-One, Tish Boutique, Olivieri Brothers Architects, Southwest Airlines and the National Animal Welfare Society. Chick-Fil-A brought out their “Wheel-of-Win” which gave participants the chance to win great edible treats at their restaurants. Also at the party was Lil Miracles Sign Language Academy which offers sign language instruction.

LWSRA has planned another Park Party in conjunction with Frankfort Park District Monday, May 21st at Heritage Knolls Park (22028 Heritage Drive) and New Lenox Community Park District Tuesday, May 29th at Firefighters Park (1 Manor Drive).
