Lincolnway Special Recreation Foundation to Hold Charity Golf Outing for new recreation center for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.

New Lenox, IL: The Lincolnway Special Recreation Foundation has announced its 5th Annual Golf Outing for Friday, August 10th at Sanctuary Golf Coarse. Proceeds from the event will go towards a recreation facility to benefit the special needs populations of Frankfort, New Lenox, Mokena, Manhattan, Peotone and surrounding communities.

The event is sponsored by Olivieri Brothers Architects and will begin registration at 9:30am. Preregistration is now available by calling (815) 464 2811 or going online at www.lwsra.org/golf. Each golfer will have access to the complimentary driving range, putting green and with an 11 am shot gun start the motorcade of golf carts will begin 18 holes of golf. Golf carts will be provided to each group of four. Contests will be held on the green including a longest putt and closest to the pin challenge. Lunch will be served on the turn and be sponsored by Vantage Point Engineering. Golfers will also be treated to free beverage carts that will make their way around the course during the outing.

All golfers will gather at the end of the outing at the club house for dinner reception, raffles, and awards ceremony presented by guest MC's. All proceeds from the event will help support the construction of a 24,835 square foot building that is specifically designed for individuals with special needs. The total project cost is cited to be around 4.5 million and will include gymnasium, stage, fitness area, learning kitchen, offices, classrooms and wheelchair softball field. The facility will be built on 5.6 acres at Heather Glen Park off of Laraway and Schoolhouse Road in New Lenox.

LWSRA has served individuals with special needs for over 36 years through the park districts of Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, Peotone, Manhattan and surrounding communities. LWSRA has grown yearly and is currently attempting to raise funds to house over 200 programs, athletic activities, summer camps, social experiences, after school functions and a program for veterans with disabilities.

This will be the 5th Annual Golf Outing put on by the LWSRF. Last year's Golf Outing saw over 131 golfers support a new Recreation Center.
