On Friday, September 21, 2012, State Senator Toi Hutchinson received the "Make a Difference Award" from the Kankakee County Hispanic Partnership, Inc.

The award was given, "For her exceptional leadership, character and dedication to the Hispanic Community of Kankakee County."
