In the first game of the 2013 varsity football season, Providence Catholic Celtics face Joliet Catholic Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at ATI Field at Memorial Stadium in Joliet.
Providence, 8-3 a year ago, was listed No. 15 in the preseason ratings by USA Today Sports. JCA, 8-5 in 2012 and a semifinalist in the Class 5A playoffs, checked in at No. 23.
