Softball: L-Way West's Magruder Scores Four Times and Eckberg Launches First Career HR
Lincoln-Way West 18, Bremen 2. Warriors jump to an 11-0 lead after two innings and cruise to victory.
Touching All the Bases: Leadoff hitter Sam Magruder reached and scored in all four plate appearances to ignite Lincoln-Way West's attack in an 18-2 softball victory over Bremen on Saturday. The Warriors jumped on Bremen with five runs in the first inning and six more in the second to take a commanding 11-0 lead and allow coach Heather Novak to utilize her bench. West batted four times, winning by the 10-run rule after the top of the fifth.
Patch’s MVP: Sam Magruder. She walked in the first inning, singled in the second and doubled in the third and fourth innings. She scored each time.
Lincoln-Way West Leaders: Magruder went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Alex Carr had three hits and three runs. Lauren Wojdyla and Sarah Clark each drove in two runs. Becky Stellwagen went 2-for-2 with three runs. Alex Stull scored twice.
