New Lenox Rebels 9U Team Wins Tournament

The team was honored Wednesday during the District 122 school board meeting.

Down 5-1 in the final inning of a recent tournament, the New Lenox Rebels 9U team completed an incredible comeback to win the championship.

The New Lenox School District 122 honored the team during a meeting Wednesday night, saying that their teamwork helped them do well in three tournaments over the course of six weeks.

In the final matchup, the Homewood Invitational Tournament, the Rebels got the big win in the championship against Beverly Ridge. The team includes:

Manager Bob Ward and coaches Darrin Contreras and Pat Martino (also a District 122 board member), and players Sarah Bourell, Caleb Contreras, Brett Carberry, Dylan Gajdorus, Jackson Kameron, Matthew Keblusek, Tyler Kent, Jared Kreis, Nicholas Martino, Jeff Ogrodnik, Riley Styx and Cameron Ward.
