Dwyane Wade, Brandon Marshall Coming to New Lenox for Sports Academy

The pros will help students hone their skills in a camp at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox.

Young athletes in the Southland can get a few pointers from star athletes this summer in New Lenox. 

The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade and Bears star wide receiver Brandon Marshall will stop into New Lenox in July to lead a sports academy at Lincoln-Way Central High School.

The academy for boys and girls ages 7 to 18 years old will offer coaching in basketball, football and cheerleading. Wade and Marshall will personally lead sessions from 8 a.m. to noon, or 1 to 4 p.m. each day from Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, or 1 to 4 p.m. each day. WNBA player Elena Delle Donne will stop in to the the girls basketball session.

Participants will practice skills and drills, and face off in tournaments and scrimmages. Each will receive a Gatorade water bottle, camp T-shirt, lunch and beverages, and autographed camp photos with Wade or Marshall.

Cheerleading sessions will include dance, cheer, tumbling and stunting on inflatable air tracks and equipment.

Registration fees range from $80.12 for one cheerleading session to $159.24 for one football or basketball session, and up to $264.74 for two sessions.
