L-W Central’s Jackovich Travels Overseas

Lincoln-Way Central’s Danijela Jackovich stayed cool this summer in a pool, but she traveled a great distance to do so. Jackovich, who is a member the Team USA water polo team, spent 12 days training and playing exhibition matches in late July in Hungary.

Highlights for Jackovich included serving as a team captain and scoring twice in one match.

Athletic Booster Clubs Want You

The beginning of the new school year is a great time to help support your local high school by getting involved with the Lincoln-Way athletic boosters. Each school has its own club to help support the various programs. Please contact the athletic department at any of the Lincoln-Way high schools for more information.

Tee Off Before Kickoff

While football is the high school sport that garners the most attention and biggest attendance numbers throughout the state of Illinois, fans and students will have to wait until the final Friday of August for the first game of the season.

Golfers, on the other hand, will be teeing it up very soon, as many golf teams are scheduled for their season opener this coming week.

Providence’s boys golf team is returning four seniors this fall, including Casey Labuda and Ryan Utter, after placing eighth in Class 3A a season ago.

Lincoln-Way also is returning plenty of experienced players, with senior Tom Schuman and juniors Kyle McDonald and Bryant Bolden, as well as sophomore Tony Kestlel. Keep your eyes open for Providence’s Mickey Brick, who not only has a great name but is expected to step in during his freshman season and be an impact scorer.
