Analysis

Lincoln-Way Central (8-16) has had trouble winning lately. A capped a 1-9 finish to the Knights' regular season.

But the Knights got the first-round win, before being crushed by Marian Catholic in their second game. Marian has topped our Girls Basketball Power Rankings throughout the season, and beat Providence Catholic in the regional final. There wasn't ever much doubt that Marian would advance out of this regional.

Analysis

Lincoln-Way West hasn't faced any of the teams in its regional this season, but were regional champs last year and could certainly repeat. Warriors leader Kaitlyn Ray, who re-injured a torn anterior cruciate ligament , played great with 14 points, but it wasn't enough as home team (but underdog) Morris got the win.

The Warriors won regionals last year—the first of the team's existence—but couldn't repeat.

Winner of the Morris Regional goes to the Metamora Sectional. The winner of that sectional would play the winner of the Park Forest Sectional for a trip to state. Go to the IHSA website for a full list of teams and their playoff matchups, as well as the Class 3A bracket.
