Gimme 5: L-W West Taps into Power of RBI Machine
Warriors' Sam Magruder drives in big runs, flirts with .400 batting average.
When the Lincoln-Way West softball team has needed a run driven in this season, sophomore Sam Magruder has come through time and again.
Through May 1, Magruder had more RBIs on the season (17) than games played this spring (16).
Not only is Magruder driving in runs, she’s hitting for average with a .396 batting average and .585 slugging percentage. She also owns a .448 on-base percentage.

“Sam has been an important member of our team since her freshman year at West,” Warriors coach Heather Novak said. “She is a versatile player with a solid swing.”
