Former LW-Central Standout Takes Big Ten Honors 2 Straight Weeks

Kylee Botterman, of New Lenox, is now a senior gymnast at the University of Michigan.

Kylee Botterman, of New Lenox, is setting a high bar for gymnasts in the Big Ten. The former standout won the conference's Gymnast of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

Botterman, now a senior at the University of Michigan, has had a fantastic career. According to the team's website, she's a five-time NCAA All-American and has achieved countless other accolades.

According to the NCAA, Botterman won Big Ten Gymnast of the Week after collecting four individual titles and posting the nation’s highest all-around score (39.550) of the season in the Wolverines’ win against Illinois and Penn State on Jan. 14.

She also captured the vault (9.975), beam (9.875) and floor exercise (9.875) crowns in the meet. Botterman’s vault score is the best in the nation in the first two weeks of action, and her all-around average (39.475) tops the nation.
