Former L-W Central Baseball Standout Flores Streaking for Slammers

One-time Astros draft pick is trying to stay above .300 and rekindle pro career in Frontier League.

Lincoln-Way Central grad Josh Flores continues to be one of the top hitters for the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League.

Through July 1, Flores was hitting exactly .300 with six doubles, two triples, three home runs, 13 RBIs and 14 stolen bases. He is a 25-year-old outfielder and former pick of the Houston Astros.

Knights Baseball Rides Bartell Pitching

The Lincoln-Way Central baseball team improved to 7-1 this summer with a 7-2 victory over Lemont on Monday. Grant Bartell pitched five innings, surrendering six hits and fanning four to get the win, while Rick Amaya had three hits.

Lincoln-Way Central was the place to be on Saturday to get a look ahead at the local basketball talent. Lincoln-Way Central, Lincoln-Way East, Lincoln-Way North and Providence all played a pair of summer league games.
