FOOTBALL FRIDAY: Finally, Some Weekend Plans

Football season is back, and we've got all the info you need about Lincoln-Way games. Hundreds of fans will pack the stands, and we're the place to talk about the athletes, the fans and the atmosphere.

How many hours a week do you spend watching football?

This Steelers fan estimates he watches 40 to 50 hours of football every week. A USA Today poll showed the average is between three and six hours.

Now, I'm not saying that's healthy. But I am excited that we've arrived at the point in fall in which I can watch high school, college and professional football in one weekend. It makes weekend planning easy!

High school football is especially great for weekend planning; it's the only community event that will regularly draw thousands of people to one place. This weekend at Patch, we'll be watching lots of football, covering three local games. Before you get the info you need for this week's games, tell us in the comments:

  • Pick one: High school, college or professional football on TV?
  • Pick one: High school, college or professional football in person?

Below are some links to everything we've covered and more you'll want to know heading into the big game. But this is your site, and we want you to get involved. Send us your fan photos and video. Tell us what you think is the best part of the game. And check back every week for some great stories.

Both teams are off to 3-0 starts in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference, and both teams are clicking on offense and defense (East is averaging 44 points per game; H-F is averaging 55 and has only given up 13 points this season). More games:

  • (2-1) looks to rebound following its first loss with a 7 pm. Friday home start against Thornton (2-1).
  • (2-1) is at home for a 7:30 p.m. Friday game against (1-2). We'll be at the game with coverage throughout the weekend.
  • (3-0) plays a 7:30 p.m. Friday home game against Loyola (3-0) in what should be a great game. Sports writer Chris Walker will have the coverage on that.
