Boys Basketball: No Fitting Knights into Glass Slipper
Lockport 45, Lincoln-Way Central 22. Richaun Holmes and Karrington Ward prevent Knights from turning into Cinderella in Class 4A regional semifinal.
The Hot Read: Lockport did not allow Lincoln-Way Central many second-chance opportunities in a 45-22 boys basketball victory in the Class 4A Stagg Regional on Tuesday night. The Porters methodically built a 12-6 halftime advantage. Brad Foster scored four of the six Central points. The Knights did make the game a defensive battle for a while, but Richaun Holmes and Karrington Ward eventually were able to score at will for the Porters. With under 1 minute to play, Ward’s flying slam put the Porters up 36-18. Josh Hager put the final dager in the Knights as he drilled a three-pointer.
