It's almost time to vote...

It's almost time to vote...

And who's going to be the lucky winner? As long as it's not me, I'll be happy. You couldn't pay me enough to be The President of the United States. Here's the worst of the facts regarding being President. They are only paid roughly 400,000.00 a year. The president also gets an expense account of 50,000.00 and an entertainment account of 19,000.00. The President of the United States hasn't gotten a raise since 2001. Most CEO's of big companies make way more than that. Here's some examples:

Scary, isn't it. We pay our president so much less than these big wigs make. How can we as a country justify that? If we paid them more, maybe we'd get some qualified candidates every time an election year comes around.

I don't care what side you're taking this election year. The tax and spend side or the Hail to the Rich side. They all make promises they can't keep. They are vague in their solutions to the problems and have no intention of working together to solve said problems. It's like putting to little kids in a room with one toy. You know something bad is going to happen, it's just a matter of time.

Here's my thoughts on both candidates. Obama has at least tried to get us out of the mess that was left to him when he took office. Could he have done a better job...yes. Did he spend to much time and energy on health care reform...yes. But take it from someone in health care, it needs to be reformed. He did some good things like getting Osama Bin Laden and Overhauled the credit card industry, making it much more consumer-friendly, and Passed the Hate Crimes bill. All good things, but yet the economy is still in the toilet. It's finally trying to climb out, but it may be to little to late for President Obama.

As for Mitt Romney I think he has the business experience to cut the programs that are unnecessary just like big CEO's do every day. But that also leaves a lot of people out of work and even more without the social services they need to survive. Not everyone on welfare or some form of public assistance is sitting at home watching Jerry Springer and drinking vodka. I also think that he will cut big government down and give more responsibility to the states. This would be a good thing in most cases. (Except Illinois, who can't seem to fight it's way out of a wet paper bag). He does say he will increase oil production in the U.S. and import oil from Canada through a Midwestern pipeline. I think we need this to cut out our dependency on foreign oil and do it anyway possible. Even if it means a moose has to go under the pipeline to get to the other side. The chicken did it, so why not the moose?

So as you can see I'm a champion fence sitter. I'm not sure which way to go. I probably won't know until a couple of days before the election. I do always vote. If you don't vote you shouldn't be able to complain about anything at all. We all have a say, even though it seems like a drop of water in an ocean.

So get out there and vote. If they raise the presidents salary to 131 million a year like the guy from McKesson, I'll run in 2016.
